We've often driven along the north shore of Lake Erie. It's one of my favourite areas for a day trip and I've shared our experiences in this past post.
About a month ago, Frank introduced me to my new favourite place along the shores of Lake Erie for a satisfying hot dog and fries - The Arbor in Port Dover.
This retro-looking building, which has been serving visitors to Port Dover since the early 1900s, produces traditional hot dogs on a soft white bun and crispy fries with the skin on. To wash it all down, you drink Orange Glow. There's nothing fancy about the servings, but they hit the spot when checking out the beach in this area or just passing through as you tour the country roads along the lake.
Note: for those that expect gourmet toppings, just pass on by - ketchup, mustard and onions will do the trick.
Rating: 2.5/5 (food is good, but nothing fancy; service is quick; few places to sit outside which means you need to run to your car if it's raining).

I've only been to Port Dover once a couple years ago, alas on a rainy day.
