|The final outcome - welcome to Casa Bourne - the Guest Bedroom|
There's a time in any blogger's life, when your original blog post content goes from a torrent of posts to a trickle. There can be a number of reasons for a blogging slowdown - from writer's block, to creative exhaustion, or just plain busy times at work.
For us, it's been updating and decorating our new home. Interior design can be a time-suck.
Since moving in last Fall, most of our weekends have been spent on cleaning out all the boxes, organizing ourselves, renovation and decorating projects. As with any move into a re-sale home, there are always updates and fixes that need to take place. The Houzz website, which also has a handy iPad app, has been a source of inspiration. IKEA has seen quite a bit of business from us as well. We know the Burlington store location like the back of our hands.
We pretty quickly realized that we:
a) Work fast together;
b) Can work within our budgets;
c) Must have been an interior designer and renovator in our past lives.
Needless to say, blogging has been sporadic with two posts a week being a miracle (a big thank you to recent guest bloggers). Whenever I have a spurt of energy and desire to blog, I get to it and type away.
Last weekend we finally got to clearing out the boxes from our guest bedroom, purchasing items to decorate it and setting it all up. It took us a day and half to accomplish everything, but the result has been favourable.We kept to a budget of under $800 and managed to get a new bedframe, new duvet and sheet set, drapes, pictures for the walls, carpet and a few decorative items.
We can officially open up "Casa Bourne" as a Bed & Breakfast! (Just kidding - friends and family stay for free).
I suspect our home projects will continue to dominate our weekend activities as the list keeps growing. Our fingers are crossed that we find ourselves a few hours for a quick morning hike in the next little while that will provide fresh new content to share with you.
